Né André Isaac à Châlons-sur-Marne dans une famille juive alsacienne (père boucher). Maître de l'absurde et du calembour, il fonda en 1938 l'hebdomadaire humoristique L'Os à moelle. Pendant la guerre il anima « Les Français parlent aux Français » sur Radio Londres (1943). Après-guerre, duo avec Francis Blanche (Sar Rabindranath Duval, feuilleton Signé Furax).
