Ottolenghi, Salvatore

Italian physician, born in Asti on March 20, 1861. Trained in his native city then at the University of Turin (doctor of medicine in 1884), he has been since 1888 assistant professor of medicine and head of the forensic medicine department at the University of Siena. Author of nearly eighty studies, notably on forensic medicine, anthropology and criminology, he published among others « Anomalie del Campo Visivo Nei Precopatici e Nei Criminali » (Turin, 1891) and « Il Glicogeno dei Muscoli e del Fegato nel Cadavere » (Siena, 1901).

Médecin italien ; né à Asti le 20 mars 1861. Il a reçu son éducation dans sa ville natale et à l'Université de Turin (M.D. 1884). Il exerce depuis 1888 les fonctions de professeur adjoint de médecine et dirige le département médico-légal de l'Université de Sienne.

Ottolenghi a contribué aux journaux médicaux par près de quatre-vingts mémoires, notamment sur la médecine légale, l'anthropologie et la criminologie, et il est l'auteur de : « Anomalie del Campo Visivo Nei Precopatici e Nei Criminali », Turin, 1891 ; « Duocento Criminali e Prostitute » (avec U. Rossi), _ib._ 1894 ; « La Sensibilità della Donna », _ib._ 1896 ; « La Suggestione e le Facoltà Psichiche Occulte in Repporto alla Pratica Medico-Forense » (avec U.
