Né à Tripoli où son père Yitshaq fut martyr, élevé par R. Yitshaq Lumbroso. Commentateur de nombreux traités talmudiques et décisionnaire ; plusieurs de ses œuvres furent détruites lors de l'invasion algérienne de Tunis en 1752. Auteur du recueil de décisions halakhiques « Yeter habbaz » (1787).
