Mordechai (Jaffe) de Lechovitch
Create the Great Book with our AIמרדכי מלעכוויטש
Region: Lyakhavichy (Lechovitch), Biélorussie
History register · custodian, not owner
Disciple of Rabbi Shlomo of Karlin, he founded at Lyakhavichy the Hasidic dynasty of Lechovitch, root of the courts of Kobrin, Slonim, Koidanov and Novominsk. His Hasidout, in the line of Karlin, emphasizes fervent prayer and simple faith. Like the rebbes of Lechovitch and Kobrin, he did not himself write down his teachings: they were transmitted orally and then compiled by his successors.
