Sephardic Jewish writer born in Salonica, from a family of grain merchants established in the city for five generations. Author of the memoir "Farewell to Salonica: City at the Crossroads" (1946), which traces his childhood in the Jewish quarter of Ottoman Salonica before the First World War and the upheavals of the Balkan Wars (1912-1913). The book was rediscovered and republished by Paul Dry Books with biographical documents provided by his son Peter.
