Lengfeld, Félix

American chemist, born in San Francisco on February 18, 1863, trained at San Francisco College of Pharmacy, University of California, Johns Hopkins University, as well as in Zurich, Liège, Munich and Paris. Fellow at Johns Hopkins from 1887, professor of chemistry at the South Dakota School of Mines from 1890, then instructor at the University of California from 1891, he was finally assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Chicago from 1892 to 1901. He is the author of a « Laboratory Manual of Inorganic Preparations » and numerous articles in American and foreign scientific journals.

Chimiste américain ; né à San Francisco le 18 février 1863 ; éducation suivie au San Francisco College of Pharmacy, à l'Université de Californie, à l'Université Johns Hopkins, ainsi qu'à Zurich, Liége, Munich et Paris. Lengfeld a été fellow de l'Université Johns Hopkins (1887-88), professeur de chimie à la South Dakota School of Mines (1890-91), instructeur en chimie à l'Université de Californie (1891-92), et docent-instructeur et professeur assistant en chimie à l'Université de Chicago (1892-1901). Il est l'auteur du « Laboratory Manual of Inorganic Preparations » et a contribué de nombreux articles aux revues scientifiques américaines et étrangères.
