Écrivain yiddish né à Odessa en 1879. D'abord proche des cercles sionistes, il rallia le Bund puis émigra aux États-Unis. Il écrivit des essais sous le pseudonyme « Duke D'Abruzzi » dans la presse radicale (Fraye Arbeter Shtime) et fut un traducteur prolifique (Tchekhov, Brandes, Ibsen), proche du cercle littéraire Di Yunge à New York.
