Born in Béchar in 1907, journalist at Oran Matin from 1934 (political-social column under various pseudonyms). Poet, he published Tears and Smiles (1928), At the Rhythm of My Heart (1930) and Sloping Gardens (1938, Corymbe Prize). His talent was praised by Léopold Sédar Senghor and Emmanuel Roblès.
