Talmudiste allemand né probablement à Breslau vers 1691, mort à Bamberg le 22 janvier 1752. Élève de son beau-père Abraham Broda, il fut d'abord rabbin à Grabfeld, puis rabbin de Bamberg (1743-1752). Réputé pour l'acuité et l'esprit de ses raisonnements ; son premier ouvrage est tenu pour l'œuvre talmudique la plus importante issue du cercle d'Abraham Broda.
