Dramaturge allemand né le 10 novembre 1833 à Groß Strehlitz, en Silésie, docteur en médecine de Berlin (1859) où il s'établit comme médecin, Eduard Jacobson écrivit dès 1856, encore étudiant, la farce « Faust und Gretchen », puis, seul ou en collaboration, de nombreux vaudevilles devenus des pièces classiques des théâtres allemands, parmi lesquels « Lady Beefsteak » (1860) et « Goldfuchs » (1890) ; il mourut à Berlin le 29 janvier 1897.

Dramaturge allemand ; né à Gross Strelitz, Silésie, le 10 novembre 1833 (M.D. Berlin, 1859) ; mort à Berlin le 29 janvier 1897. Il s'établit comme médecin à Berlin. Étudiant, il écrivit la farce « Faust und Gretchen » (1856) ; à partir de ce moment il écrivit—soit seul, soit en collaboration avec O. F. Berg, O. Girndt, G. v. Moser, Julius Rosen et d'autres—des burlesques qui devinrent des pièces de répertoire dans presque tous les théâtres allemands. On peut notamment mentionner les suivantes : « Meine Tante—Deine Tante ! » (Berlin, 1858) ; « Lady Beefsteak » (1860) ; « Wer Zuletzt Lacht » (1861) ; « Backfische, oder ein Mädchenpensionat » (1864) ; « Seine Bessere Hälfte » (1864) ; « Humor Verloren—Alles Verloren ! » (1867) ; « 1,733 Thaler 22½ Silbergroschen » (1870) ; « 500,000 Teufel » (jouée 300 fois successivement à Berlin) ; « Der Nachbar zur Linken » (1887) ; « Das Lachende Berlin » (1888) ; « Salontirolerin » (1888) ; et « Goldfuchs » (1890).
