Judge at the Supreme Court of the Cape of Good Hope, born in 1830 and died in London on June 15, 1883, Siméon Jacobs became a lawyer at the Inner Temple in November 1852, then emigrated to the Cape in 1860; appointed Attorney General of British Kaffraria in 1861, a position he held until 1866, he subsequently became Solicitor General of the Cape, served as Attorney General from 1874 to 1882, the year he was promoted to Puisne Judge and member of the Executive Council, before retiring and being made C.M.G. in November 1882.

JACOBS, SIMÉON

Juge à la Cour suprême du Cap de Bonne-Espérance ; né en 1830 ; mort à Londres le 15 juin 1883. Il devint avocat du Barreau du Inner Temple en nov. 1852. En 1860, en quête de santé, il émigra au Cap de Bonne-Espérance, et en 1861 fut nommé attorney-general de la Kaffraria britannique, charge qu'il garda jusqu'en 1866, année où il devint solicitor-general au Cap de Bonne-Espérance. Il servit comme attorney-general de 1874 à 1882, année où il fut promu puisne judge et nommé membre du conseil exécutif. Au bout de quelques mois, il se retira de la vie active et reçut le titre de C.M.G. en nov. 1882.
