Mathématicien israélien né à Kherson, immigré en Palestine en 1912. Doctorat à Göttingen (1929) sous la direction d'Emmy Noether ; professeur à l'Université hébraïque de Jérusalem. Co-lauréat du premier prix Israël en sciences exactes (1953) pour ses travaux sur les anneaux non commutatifs ; le « radical de Levitzki » porte son nom.
