Membre de la dynastie Cansino, qui détint de père en fils la charge d'interprète (lengua) des gouverneurs espagnols d'Oran aux XVIᵉ-XVIIᵉ s. Jacob Cansino traduisit du hébreu en castillan la chronique de Moïse Almosnino sur Constantinople, publiée à Madrid en 1638. Sa préface reproduit la liste des offices tenus par les Cansino et une lettre de reconnaissance du roi Philippe IV.
