Talmudiste français du XVe siècle, à ne pas confondre avec l'astronome homonyme du XIVe siècle Jacob ben David ben Yom-Ṭob Po'el, dit « Sen Bonet Bongoron de Perpignan ». Établi à Marseille, où il pratiquait le commerce maritime, il se retira ensuite à Naples, d'où il adressa en 1490 une lettre à David ben Juda Messer Léon de Mantoue sur l'utilité des études profanes, notamment de la médecine. Talmudiste savant, il donna son approbation au « Sefer Agur » de Jacob Landau et rédigea un commentaire sur le Cantique des Cantiques.
