Rabbin et auteur russe, mort à Karlin, dans le gouvernement de Minsk, en 1855, petit-fils de Baruch de Shklov, mathématicien et auteur, et l'un des premiers et des plus réputés diplômés de la yeshiva de Volojine. Rabbin de Karlin pendant une trentaine d'années, il fut considéré comme l'une des plus grandes autorités rabbiniques de son temps ; il est l'auteur du « Mishkenot Ya'aḳob » (Vilna, 1838), responsa sur les quatre parties du Choulhan Aroukh, du « Ḳohelet Ya'aḳob » (1857), novellæ sur les ordres talmudiques Zera'im et Mo'ed, et d'un autre recueil de responsa.
