Savant karaïte du Xe siècle, de son nom complet Samuel ben Asher ben Manṣour, originaire de la province de Jabal, près de Hamadan. Il réfuta Saadia Gaon dans un écrit spécial, ainsi qu'un certain Menahem, chef d'école, dans une controverse portant sur une lettre du fils de ce dernier ; si ce Menahem est bien celui qui adressait des questions à Saadia en arabe, Al-Jabali ne peut avoir été actif avant 950-960. Il ne doit pas être confondu avec un autre auteur karaïte homonyme, Samuel ibn Manṣour, qui appartient vraisemblablement au XIVe siècle.
