Rabbin et auteur russe, né semble-t-il à Temesvár et rabbin à Belzyce puis à Lublin, contemporain de Samuel (Aaron) Keidanover ; il périt lors des persécutions de Chmielnicki en 1648. On lui doit des homélies sur le Pentateuque, le « Tif'eret Yisrael », et surtout le « Yalḳut Ḥadash », recueil de midrashim classés par ordre alphabétique, imprimé pour la première fois à Lublin en 1648 puis réédité à Prague en 1657, à Amsterdam en 1659 et, avec un appendice, à Wilmersdorf en 1673.
