Born in Algiers, son of David Raphaël Morali. Rabbi-dayan and dominant rabbinical authority of the first half of the 20th century in Algiers; founder of a Hebrew school and then of the Talmud Torah Etz-Haïm (1904). Investigator of the sources of the liturgy of Algerian Jews, author of elegies and piyyutim.
