Rabbin polonais des XVIe-XVIIe siècles, petit-fils de Hirsch et maître de Joël Sirkes, il fit ses études talmudiques dans la yeshiva de Hayyim ben Samuel de Kremenetz avant d'exercer comme rabbin à Gorodnitza puis à Beresnitza, avant d'être appelé à Mezhirichi. Il est l'auteur du « Sefer Zikkaron », recueil rimé de tous les paragraphes du Choulhan Aroukh classés par ordre alphabétique pour en faciliter la mémorisation, publié à Cracovie ou à Prague au XVIIe siècle, auquel il joignit le « Petiḥat ha-Lev », abrégé de son ouvrage de sermons « Harḥabat ha-Lev ».
