Fondateur de la famille de kabbalistes Hariri du village de Harir (district d'Erbil, Kurdistan), il y vécut dans la première moitié du XVIIe s. Il est l'auteur de l'ouvrage kabbalistique « Naḥalat ha-Shem » et de plusieurs piyyoutim religieux. Son fils Phinehas, gagné au sabbatéanisme, fut lui aussi payytan et auteur ; les fils de Phinehas, Ḥayyim et Isaac, furent rabbins à Rawanduz.
