Talmudiste russe, né à Volojine, dans le gouvernement de Wilna, et mort à Ivenets, dans le gouvernement de Minsk, le 16 juin 1849. Talmudiste réputé, il succéda à son père à la tête de la yeshiva de Volojine, puis fut appelé en 1844 à Saint-Pétersbourg comme membre de la commission rabbinique chargée d'étudier la création de séminaires et d'écoles rabbiniques. Il est l'auteur du « Mille de-Abot », novellae sur les Pirké Avot.
