Fils d'exilés d'Espagne, collectionneur et sauveur de manuscrits ; il séjourna au Caire dans la maison du Radbaz puis à Constantinople où il édita d'importants recueils historiques et polémiques. Une partie de sa collection périt dans l'incendie de 1569.
