Hakham de la première congrégation judéo-portugaise de Hambourg, puis rabbin de la communauté séfarade de Venise (après 1622). Élève d'Isaac Uzziel, il rédigea en espagnol le Tesoro de Preceptos (Venise 1627 ; 2e éd. Amsterdam 1649), exposé des 613 commandements pour les juifs de la diaspora séfarade ne maîtrisant plus l'hébreu.
