Rabbin et historien turc actif à Andrinople au début du seizième siècle, fils de Salomon ibn Verga, auteur du « Shebeṭ Yehudah », qui avait fui l'Espagne pour la Turquie en marrane. Élève de Joseph Fasi, il compléta l'œuvre de son père d'un récit des événements de son propre temps, y incorporant des récits traduits du latin qu'il connaissait, ainsi qu'une supplication de sa composition. Il est aussi l'auteur du « She'erit Yosef », méthodologie du Talmud parue à Andrinople en 1554.
