Médecin et écrivain russe né à Wilna dans la première moitié du dix-huitième siècle, mort à Grodno le 12 novembre 1797. Diplômé de médecine de l'université de Padoue, il voyagea à travers l'Europe puis s'établit à Wilna comme médecin de la communauté juive, avant d'exercer à Ponedeli, Zhagory et Mitau, et enfin à Grodno. En 1765, lors d'un voyage en Allemagne et à Amsterdam, il publia son « Sefer 'Ammude Bet Yehudah » de philosophie morale, approuvé par Mendelssohn et Wessely ; il fit aussi paraître, entre 1764 et 1797, plusieurs autres ouvrages de morale et de pensée, dont le « Sefer Megillat Sedarim » à Prague en 1793.
