Hillel ben Naphtali Herz est un rabbin lituanien né à Brest-Litovsk en 1615 et mort à Zolkiew le 3 janvier 1690. Après avoir étudié sous Hirsch Darshan, il se rend à Wilna, où il est membre du collège rabbinique de 1650 à 1651, y reste jusqu'en 1666, puis devient rabbin à Kaidan et dans plusieurs autres villes lituaniennes, avant d'être appelé en 1670 à Altona et Hambourg, puis en 1680 à Zolkiew ; il est également délégué au Conseil des quatre pays à la foire de Yaroslav. Il est l'auteur du Bet Hillel, commentaire sur les quatre parties du Choulhan Aroukh, dont son fils Moïse ben Hillel ne publia que les parties Yoré Déa et Even ha-Ézer, avec le texte (Dyhernfurth, 1691).
