Estella Dorothea Salomea Hertzveld est une poétesse néerlandaise née à La Haye le 14 juillet 1837 et morte à Arnhem le 4 novembre 1881, petite-fille du grand rabbin H. J. Hertzveld de Zwolle. Sous l'influence du poète Wilhuys, elle publie en 1852 son premier poème important, Elias in de Woestijn, dans l'Israëlietische Jaarboekje, puis y fait paraître de nombreux autres poèmes de sujet biblique, dont God Redt (1856), écrit au profit des victimes d'une inondation. Sincèrement religieuse, elle poursuit son œuvre poétique jusqu'à la veille de sa mort, faisant paraître à La Haye, en octobre 1881, un recueil dédié à ses enfants quelques semaines avant de mourir.
