Joël ben Isaac Heilprin est un rabbin hassidique polonais actif à Ostrog au milieu du XVIIe siècle, connu comme le premier « Baal Chem » pour sa réputation d'érudition talmudique et cabalistique. Le Toledot Adam (Zolkiew, 1720) rapporte qu'il sauva miraculeusement en 1648 des Juifs poursuivis réfugiés sur un navire ; certains de ses écrits furent imprimés dans le recueil cabalistique Mif'alot Elohim (Zolkiew, 1724).
