Wolf ben Samson Heidenheim est un exégète et grammairien allemand né à Heidenheim en 1757 et mort à Rödelheim le 23 février 1832. Formé au Talmud à Fürth sous Joseph Steinhardt puis Hirsch Janow, il s'installe en 1782 à Francfort-sur-le-Main. Son premier ouvrage, une édition critique du Moznayim d'ibn Ezra, paraît à Offenbach en 1791 ; il entreprend ensuite une édition critique du Pentateuque, puis, associé à Baruch Baschwitz, obtient en 1799 l'autorisation d'ouvrir une imprimerie à Rödelheim, où paraît en 1800 son édition du Maḥzor. Devenu seul propriétaire en 1806, il publie cette année-là son Mebo ha-Lashon et, en 1808, ses Mishpeṭe ha-Ṭe'amim.
