Emanuel Hecht est un pédagogue allemand né en 1821 à Nordheim, en Bavière, et mort le 25 février 1862 à Hoppstädten, dans le Birkenfeld-Oldenbourg. Diplômé en 1842 de l'école normale royale de Würzbourg, il se consacre à l'enseignement de la jeunesse juive avant de rejoindre en 1845, à l'invitation de David Einhorn, l'école communale juive de Hoppstädten. Il obtient en 1856 la pleine reconnaissance par l'État des écoles et instituteurs juifs de Birkenfeld à l'égal des écoles chrétiennes, est élu en 1858 membre de la diète provinciale, et publie notamment une histoire biblique parue à Fulda en 1842.
