Cabaliste établi à Jérusalem au dix-septième siècle, Aaron ben David Ḥayyun siégea comme dayyan dans le rabbinat de Moses Galante aux côtés de David Yiẓḥaḳi et Jacob Molko. Une de ses décisions, rendue dans le différend opposant le grand rabbin du Caire Mordecai ha-Levi au rabbin d'Alexandrie Judah Ḥabillo, fut publiée dans le « Darke No'am ». Il est l'auteur d'un commentaire du Zohar, le « Maḥaneh Aharon », dont seule une petite partie parut, à Livourne en 1795.
