Gedaliah Ḥayyon est un rabbin turc né à Constantinople dans la seconde moitié du XVIIe siècle, élève d'Alfandari le Jeune. Établi à Jérusalem, il voyage comme émissaire bénévole de la ville de Hébron avant d'y retourner. Sans être connu comme érudit, il s'adonnait à l'étude de la Cabale et passait pour un homme d'une piété exceptionnelle.
