Né à Alep, fils de R. Shaul Ezra ha-Kohen Dweck (grand-rabbin d'Alep). Il monta en Terre d'Israël en 1890 avec un groupe de rabbins d'Alep, devint l'une des figures de la yeshiva kabbalistique Beit El à Jérusalem puis dirigea la yeshiva Rehovot ha-Nahar (quartier bukharien). Il œuvra à la diffusion des kavvanot (intentions mystiques) de R. Shalom Sharabi (le Rashash). Il perdit la vue à la fin de sa vie.
