Judah ben Jacob Ḥayyaṭ est un cabaliste espagnol des XVe et XVIe siècles, exilé d'Espagne, dont l'expulsion de Lisbonne, en 1493, ouvre une longue suite d'épreuves : capture par des pirates biscayens, refoulement du port de Malaga, mort de sa femme de faim, installation en Berbérie, avant qu'il ne parvienne enfin en Italie et ne s'établisse à Mantoue. L'un des plus grands cabalistes de son temps, il y rédige, à la demande de Joseph Jabez, un commentaire du Ma'areket ha-Elahut, publié avec le texte à Ferrare en 1557 sous le titre Minḥat Yehudah.
