Hermann von der Hardt est un théologien protestant et philologue allemand né à Melle, en Westphalie, le 15 novembre 1660, et mort le 28 février 1746. Il devient en 1690 professeur de langues orientales à l'université de Helmstedt et publie de nombreux ouvrages sur la littérature hébraïque, dont un traité sur l'accentuation hébraïque (Leipzig, 1692), une version latine du traité mishnique Ta'anit (1712) et un commentaire sur les Pirke Avot (1728).
