Mordecai Hamburger, aussi appelé Marcus Moses, est un dirigeant communautaire anglais né à Hambourg vers 1660 et mort à Londres vers 1730, fondateur de la synagogue Hambro'. Fils de R. Moïse ben Löb, il épouse Fradche, fille de Glückel de Hameln, et s'installe à Londres au début du XVIIIe siècle. Frappé d'excommunication à la suite d'une contestation, il ouvre une synagogue dans sa propre maison de Magpye Alley et achète un terrain de sépulture à Hoxton. Contraint à l'émigration par des difficultés financières en 1711, il revient à Londres avec une grande fortune en 1721 et y fait bâtir en 1725 la synagogue qui portera son nom.
