Augusto Graziani est un économiste italien né à Modène le 6 janvier 1865, docteur en droit en 1886. Privat-docent puis professeur assistant d'économie politique dans son université natale, il devient professeur de sciences financières à l'université de Sienne en 1894 puis professeur d'économie politique à l'université de Naples en 1899, poste qu'il occupe encore. Membre correspondant de l'Accademia dei Lincei, il publie de nombreux essais d'économie et de finances publiques entre 1887 et 1904.
