Isaac Gompertz est un poète anglais, frère de Benjamin et Lewis Gompertz, né en 1774 et mort en 1856. Il écrivit: «June, or Light and Shade», poème en six parties, Londres, 1815; «The Modern Antique, or the Muse in the Costume of Queen Anne», Londres, 1813; «Devon, a Poem», Teignmouth, 1825. Gompertz était fort admiré par ses contemporains; le Dr. Jamieson, dans sa «Grammar of Rhetoric» (p. 357), classe Gompertz parmi Dryden, Pope, Addison et Gray.
