Milton Goldsmith est un négociant et écrivain américain né à Philadelphie le 22 mai 1861. Parti étudier trois ans à Zurich à partir de 1877, il publie ensuite les romans Rabbi and Priest en 1891 et A Victim of Conscience en 1903, ainsi que plusieurs livrets d'opéras comiques, pièces dramatiques, nouvelles et poèmes.
