Hermann Goldschmidt est un romancier et dramaturge allemand né à Francfort-sur-le-Main le 18 juillet 1860. Après des études de droit à Heidelberg, Leipzig et Marbourg puis un poste de magistrat obtenu en 1888, il se tourne vers la littérature et publie en 1890 le roman social Ein Weg zum Frieden, suivi de plusieurs pièces jouées sur les scènes allemandes, notamment à Berlin, Vienne et Munich.

Romancier et dramaturge allemand ; né à Francfort-sur-le-Main le 18 juillet 1860. Il fréquenta le gymnase local et étudia le droit aux universités de Heidelberg, Leipzig et Marbourg. Il fut d'abord referendaire, puis devint en 1888 « Gerichtsassessor » dans sa ville natale. Peu après, il embrassa une carrière littéraire. Il publia, entre autres ouvrages, un roman social, « Ein Weg zum Frieden » (1890), et au cours des années suivantes il écrivit les pièces « Fortuna », « Der Freie Wille », « Goldene Lüge », « Hans der Träumer », « Ewige Liebe », « Ein Glückliches Paar », et « Frau Lili », qui ont toutes été jouées sur les scènes allemandes et étrangères, y compris les théâtres de cour de Berlin, Vienne, Munich, le Berliner Deutsches Theater, etc.
