Écrivain autrichien né à Rackschitz, en Moravie, le 7 juillet 1864, qui débute en littérature à seize ans et enseigne à l'École d'art dramatique de Vienne. Rédacteur de la « Fünfkirchner Zeitung » de 1882 à 1885 puis de journaux de Budapest de 1884 à 1886, il publie en 1886 une édition biographique illustrée des œuvres du peintre Michael von Zichy et une biographie de Munkácsy, avant de se consacrer au feuilleton et au théâtre avec des œuvres telles que « Weihnachts-Zauber » (1888) et « Franz Joseph I. und Seine Zeit » (1898-99).
