Converti juif né à Recklinghausen, en Prusse, le 1er août 1569, noyé à Dröhelm le 25 septembre 1627. Après avoir enseigné l'hébreu et le Talmud dans diverses villes allemandes, il se fait baptiser à Halberstadt le 9 octobre 1600 et devient diacre puis pasteur protestant à Dröhelm, consacrant dès lors ses écrits à dénigrer le Talmud, notamment dans « Jüdischer Talmud » (Goslar, 1607) et « Ḥeleḳ », traduction allemande d'un chapitre du traité Sanhédrin (Helmstädt, 1610) ; il figure toutefois parmi ceux qui réfutèrent l'accusation de sang.
