Talmudiste hongrois né à Vágújhely, dayyan pendant quinze ans avant d'être nommé rabbin et av bet din de Rohonc, où il resta jusqu'à sa mort (1850). Il consacra sa vie à l'étude et à sa yeshiva ; le Chatam Sofer (Moshe Sofer) donna des approbations (haskamot) à ses ouvrages.
