Médecin et lettré algérien d'origine grenadine, mort à Tlemcen en 1605. Établi comme médecin à Alger dès 1574, il y acquiert une large clientèle et compose un commentaire des Proverbes, « 'Omer ha-Shiḥah », citant abondamment la littérature arabe et complété de poèmes didactiques annotés par son fils. L'ouvrage fut publié à Livourne en 1748 par un de ses descendants, en accomplissement d'un vœu fait en 1740 à la mort de ses deux fils, emportés par la peste.
