Chantre hongrois né à Hrabócz, en Hongrie, le 7 mars 1823, mort à Budapest le 29 août 1891. Il occupe plusieurs postes dans de petites congrégations jusqu'en 1848, année où il s'engage dans l'armée hongroise, puis rejoint le chœur de Salomon Sulzer à Vienne avant d'être élu, en 1850, chantre, enseignant et secrétaire de la congrégation de Fünfhaus. Devenu grand chantre de la communauté juive de Budapest, il reçoit en 1875 la croix d'or de l'empereur François-Joseph, fonde en 1882 une union des officiants israélites et enseigne le chant à partir de 1877 au séminaire rabbinique de Budapest.
