Rabbin polonais de la première moitié du XVIe siècle, d'abord rabbin de Posen puis de Brisk, ou Brest-Litovsk. Un ordre du roi Sigismond Ier, daté du 4 septembre 1531, enjoint aux Juifs de Brest-Litovsk de se soumettre à sa juridiction, et une lettre de la reine Bona, datée du 28 mai 1532, interdit au starosta de la ville de reconnaître les appels contre ses décisions ; on suppose qu'il fut imposé à la communauté par Michael Esofovitch, nommé chef des Juifs de Lituanie en 1514, qui avait reçu du roi le droit de nommer les rabbins.
