Poète et érudit rabbinique italien né à Mantoue le 22 juillet 1618 (?), mort à Livourne après 1703, formé par son frère aîné Jacob et par Joseph Firmo d'Ancône. Farouche opposant, avec ce frère, aux disciples de Shabbethaï Ẓevi, contre lesquels ils publient un recueil de poèmes, le « Ẓebi Muddaḥ » (Berlin, 1885), il est aussi contraint par les rabbins de Mantoue de quitter la ville pour s'être opposé aux cabalistes. Après des pérégrinations jusqu'à Alger, il s'établit à Livourne, où il compose son œuvre la plus connue, le « Meteḳ Sefatayim », traité de prosodie hébraïque édité par H. Brody (Cracovie, 1892).
