Juif converti au christianisme, actif à Rome au XVIe siècle, connu pour ses accusations calomnieuses contre ses anciens coreligionnaires. Avec deux autres convertis, il se présente en 1553 devant le pape Jules III comme accusateur du Talmud, provoquant l'autodafé de nombreux exemplaires ; plus grave encore, il accuse en 1555 devant le pape Marcel II les Juifs d'un meurtre rituel après qu'un apostat musulman eut crucifié son propre pupille et déposé le corps près du cimetière juif — accusation que le cardinal Alexandre Farnèse, convaincu de sa fausseté, fait instruire jusqu'à confondre le véritable meurtrier.
