Bene Israel educator, she served as director of the Sir Elly Kadoorie School from 1955 to 1964. Polyglot (Sanskrit, Marathi, English, Hebrew), she subsequently taught Sanskrit at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She wrote an autobiographical memoir in Marathi and a scholarly article on a Bene Israel ritual.
