Rabbin autrichien né à Prague vers 1756, mort à Eisenstadt, en Hongrie, vers 1833, fils du riche talmudiste Meïr Fischer et père de Marcus Fischer. Outre le Talmud, il étudie la philosophie et les mathématiques, et sa maîtrise de la logique et de la grammaire hébraïque lui vaut les éloges de Moses Mendelssohn, avec qui il correspond. Pendant près de deux décennies, il officie sans en porter le titre comme rabbin de la petite communauté de Vienne, avant de se retirer en 1827 à Eisenstadt.
